Living Peacefully I

How sweet is the peace that comes from the presence of Jesus. We find it nowhere else.

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."

We will always find peace in the name of Jesus, no matter what is going on. This world is crazy and drama is everywhere, but through the chaos we have sweet, sweet peace in our souls. At times it may feel as if the world is about to swallow us up, but Jesus has overcome the world and restored us tranquility forever and ever.

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

Jesus was kind enough to give us peace, and now it's up to us to enjoy it. The world gives in vain, and half the time it takes the gift back, but God is not like that. His gifts are for good, but we have to use it responsibly and keep up with it. Just like joy, we can't let it be taken away by the craziness of our surroundings. We also cannot let it become an excuse to ignore what is happening around us. (The next devotion is on that.)

Romans 6:8 "For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace."

When we are focusing on how 'bad' our circumstances are, (basically having a pity party) we are not focusing on God and his blessings for us. When we are not focused on God, we are not going to have peace. I have no idea what you're going through unless you share it with me, but I do know that you are not going to find peace until you accept what God had given you and have focused your mind purely on Him. Don't forget that.

I love you all, share this with someone, and have a good day.
