Let’s Catch Up!

Hey everybody! It feels so nice to be back on the blog, back with all of you guys, posting updates and sharing my life with you guys.

Since it’s been so long, I feel like it’s necessary to revisit my original reasons for deciding to have this personal blog. The reason I really want to have a blog like this where I share my life with you all is because life is FULL of small, almost unnoticeable and easily forgettable events where God shows up so faithfully and so sweetly - and I want to remember them. I could (and do) write about these in my journal, but my journal stays between God and I.

However, keeping record on a blog like this allows you guys to be able to see into my life a bit, to be able to witness the play-by-play of God working in my life and using me for the purposes He created me for. People tend to be encouraged in their own struggles when they see God showing up for others. And not only that, but it’s also so encouraging to see how God uses a person with a flawed past to advance His Kingdom and accomplish His work. My hope is that by sharing my losses and my victories, my needs and His providence over them, you will be deeply ministered to and your faith will increase.

That said, let’s catch up on all that’s happened since I last blogged!

-In 2023, my family did finally buy a house (as many of you know!) We’ve been living there ever since!

-We got plugged into our now home-church soon after we moved in. After a long period of warming up to everyone, I finally began to form relationships with my youth leaders and they quickly became some of the biggest blessings in my life. I officially joined the church about a month ago!

-I graduated high school and completed almost one year of college before I decided to put a pause on my studies. Dual-enrollment really burned me out, and I had never felt called to college in the first place, so I decided to stop pursuing a degree unless/until I felt that it was God’s specific will for me or would greatly help me in whatever ministry I enter.

-I joined my youth praise team and was insanely blessed during my time as a vocalist for the few short months that I got to be a part of the team before I graduated. I would have joined sooner, but I wanted to be 100% sure that I had pure intentions and was in the right heart place, so I took my time. While I wish I had been able to join sooner, I don’t regret deciding to wait until I knew I was ready. I learned a lot about leadership, worship, and the dynamics of a team, and I really feel that it helped me lay a healthy foundation for the music/worship ministry that I will (Lord-willing!) step into when the time comes. On top of that, I was able to make my fair share of rookie mistakes in a safe environment, which I’m very grateful for. It definitely gave me some lessons to keep in the back of my mind for future opportunities.

-I left the youth group… which I miss INSANELY… but I am really seeing how God is shaping me through the college group and through the other opportunities I have to serve, so I know it’s going to be okay. Actually, today was my first day co-teaching a 3rd-5th grade class, and I’m anticipating what I’m going to learn and how I’m going to grow as I work with the kids. Kids ministry was the last ministry on my list of ones that I saw myself working in, but the door opened continually until I felt God leading me to walk through it. I feel in my spirit that there are some very specific things God is going to work out of me and other things He’s going to work into me through helping with these kids, and I’m excited to be used and to grow as He would have me to. I’m going to come back in a few months and leave an update on how it’s going!

Besides for all that, there was a whole lot that happened in my personal and spiritual life in the last three years, but that is another story for another time. It’ll be soon; I promise.

But for now, I just wanted you guys to have the basic rundown of some major events, since I kind of left you hanging in 2023.

See you guys soon!
